Angels & Friends Foundation is run by an all volunteer staff and board who dedicates their time and expertise towards helping Saskatchewan children with intellectual disabilities. Our annual operating expenses are generated through the Foundation’s fundraising events. Donations otherwise generated throughout the year go directly to our financial assistance allocations.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create wishes and fund specialized equipment for children living with intellectual disabilities who live in Saskatchewan; help advance, enhance and expand educational learning and literacy for children with intellectual disabilities who live in Saskatchewan; and to help improve the quality of life of individuals living with Angelman Syndrome.
“It is impossible to explain to people what its like to be a parent of a child with an intellectual disability. When my daughter was first diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, people would tell me how sorry they were. At the time I would say thank you and it would bring me comfort that people cared. Now, if I could turn back time, I would apologize to my daughter every time someone said sorry to me. I’m sorry I never understood what it would be like to raise a child that could teach me more in life then I could ever teach her”
The Angels & Friends Foundation is a registered charity created to help fund a favourite wish, a campaign called ‘Touched by an Angel’, for children with intellectual disabilities in the province of Saskatchewan. Angels & Friends Foundation will help ensure all children with an intellectual disability will have a dream fulfilled in their lifetime.
The Angels & Friends Foundation also provides financial assistance to help advance, enhance and expand educational learning and literacy for children with intellectual disabilities living in Saskatchewan. Financial assistance may be used to purchase equipment (ex. communication devices), fund workshops, create sensory rooms and literacy stations within schools, curriculum adaptions and conferences.
The Angels & Friends Foundation also provides support to individuals with Angelman Syndrome, their families and caregivers through educational, social and medical therapeutic experiences.
